Description

Unconscious bias—also known as implicit bias—exists in every workplace, often shaping how we view others, make decisions, and interact with colleagues, even when we don’t realize it. These subtle, automatic associations influence hiring, promotions, team dynamics, and overall workplace culture.

In this impactful session, we’ll explore what unconscious bias looks like, how it operates, and how managers and staff can become more self-aware to prevent it from impacting everyday decisions. We'll discuss how unconscious perceptions about race, gender, age, and other traits influence behavior—even among well-intentioned professionals.

You’ll learn how unconscious bias affects hiring and performance reviews, and how organizations like the U.S. Department of Justice and major corporations are using bias training to create fairer, more inclusive environments. Despite decades of civil rights legislation, inequality persists—and unconscious bias plays a key role.

Understanding these hidden influences is critical for leaders, HR teams, and employees striving to create workplaces that are not only diverse, but truly inclusive.
